At Aversboro Elementary School, we take the Professional Learning Team policy seriously and use it to drive student learning at our school. Each Wednesday, Aversboro Elementary School dismisses at 2:00 in order for our teachers to focus on student learning.
After dismissal, our grade levels and teams collaborate to pinpoint specific goals that target student achievement towards their learning objectives (SMART goals). These objectives are aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Teachers utilize common assessments to measure student achievement and utilize these results to drive student learning activities in the classroom. Intervention teachers are part of the conversations to ensure that we align our instruction and provide meaningful opportunities for students.
The professional learning team format provides opportunities for our educators to provide both remediation and enrichment to our students in need.
We have provided a calendar of what our focus is each week during our Professional Learning Team opportunities.
