Guidance Counselor Corner

Ms. Vicki Cox

• Classroom Guidance is delivered to grades K-5 every other week on an A/B Specials Schedule during the Specials Block. Topics offered may include but are limited to: Study Skills, Conflict Resolution, Feelings, Character, and Career Exploration.
  
  
• Small Group Counseling is available for students in grades K-5 these sessions are for students that may need extra support in a small group setting in a specific area.
  
  
• Individual Counseling is available to all students when needed. Parents, teachers, and administration can refer students to the counselor. Students may also self-refer by filling out a self-referral slip in the Media Center or by writing a note.
  
  
• Teacher and Parent Consultation Ms. Cox can meet with teachers and or parents regarding concerns they may have about students. The counselor can sit in on parent teacher conferences and meet privately with parents regarding their child.
  
  
• Student Support Team (SST) is a regular education function that provides a supportive open environment to discuss student concerns. Ms. Cox is the SST Coordinator at Aversboro.
