& Committee Job Descriptions
Executive Board
President: Direct the affairs of the association in cooperation
with the other members of the executive board. Coordinate with school
administration in all PTA affairs. Conduct board and general meetings.
Serve as ex-officio member of all committees. Communicate events and information
to the executive board and ensure that communications are properly relayed
to Aversboro staff and families.
Vice President-Fundraising: Develop a fundraising plan based on
the needs determined jointly by administration and the PTA board. Administer
each fundraiser; coordinate with fundraising companies; provide customer
support to all families participating in fundraisers; coordinate the volunteer
effort necessary to complete the plan.
Vice President-Membership: Cultivate membership in our PTA. Provide
ample opportunities for families to understand the benefits of PTA membership
and to join. Maintain membership records. Handle administrative duties,
which include reporting to the NC PTA. Coordinate with volunteers to form
a membership committee to support this effort.
Vice President-Programs: Coordinate and administer programs other
than Cultural Arts for Aversboro. An example of a program is the Scrap
Exchange Family Night. Coordinate the volunteer effort necessary to implement
plans.
Treasurer: Responsible for maintaining financial records of the
PTA and filing related IRS documents. Assist in financial aspect of activities
that involve revenue, such as fundraisers and membership.
Secretary: Responsible for keeping accurate records of the proceedings
of the association.
Committees
Cultural Arts: Coordinate with Mrs. Hopkins and Mrs. Sligh to
plan the Cultural Arts experiences for the entire year. This includes
attending an arts fair to evaluate artists. Perform administrative duties
to contract with artists. Manage hospitality duties for the artists while
they are at Aversboro. Coordinate with volunteers as needed to meet job
requirements.
Public Relations/Newsletter: Gather information to create and
submit a monthly newsletter and calendar for distribution to families.
Coordinate any publicity releases with local media.
Building and Grounds: Work with school administration to develop
a plan for volunteers to help maintain and beautify the building and grounds.
Coordinate the volunteer effort needed to implement the plan.
Staff Appreciation: Work with administration to develop a plan
for staff appreciation events that should happen throughout the year,
including Staff Appreciation Week in early May. Coordinate the volunteer
effort necessary to implement the plan.
Yearbook: Oversee yearbook production. Work with the school photographer
and any volunteers necessary for completion.
